Been a Little Busy…

080 copyPhoto by Victoria Bracken–(This is a pic of a strangely butch moi hiking the Glacier Vista Panorama Point Trail in Mount Rainier National Park this past Monday.)

Between scheduling and preparation for shooting our new short film this weekend, ramping up our business for a much-anticipated busy season, and a hike-heavy couple of weeks in anticipation of the closing of hiking season, my ass is officially kicked.  But, as the photo details, it was all worth the pain.

Oh, and I met this little fella at 7000 ft on Mount Rainier…

R.I.P. – Karen Black

karenblack1

Karen Black, singer, song/scripwriter, scream queen and versatile character actress, died from complications due to her long battle with ampullary cancer. She was 74.

Known for her roles in Easy Rider, Day of the Locust, The Great Gatsby, and Five Easy Pieces, my greatest recollection of her work came in her psychotic performance in Dan Curtis’ Trilogy of Terror (1975 co-written by Richard Matheson) and her later return to horror in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses.

To be a memorable scream queen, you have to be good…and she was one of the best.

Elysium: everything that sucks about movies these days – Boing Boing

“The MPAA estimates roughly 600 movies will be released in 2013. At last week’s screening, while I sat eating GMO popcorn and sipping high-fructose lemonade, watching a $100 million, cliché-riddled exercise that glorified guns and explosive violence, I thought to myself: We are doomed.” Colin Berry-Boing Boing
